Crackheads
Is there not a way to make this forum for legal users only, like cubase did?
I think its so fucking lame to ask for support while u did not invest a bit.
Ok call me egoistic, but i pay for updates and support development.
I like it to stay that way, would not like it that abe pulled the plug.

Cubase? I just signed up on cubase dot net last night - I don't have any type of Cubase system (real or fake)lola wrote:Is there not a way to make this forum for legal users only, like cubase did?

hey lola,
This point has been raised a few times before, and usually what comes out of it is that people who are using a demo version really like being able to ask stupid questions here. Which is fine if we all don't mind helping out a newbie once in a while. I suppose it encourages new users who might consider buying the program later. Certainly I think the friendliness of this forum is a big attraction to new folk.
I think you hit the nail on the head when you fired into luomo about using cracked software. That was a cool way to deal with it. Haven't seen he/she much round here since.
Anybody else for/against registered users only on the forum? I say leave it open now. And exterminate messages from spammers/pornlinks/Armenian separatists with extreme prejudice as soon as they appear.
My 2p.

re: CRACK
I been in this game for years, it made me a animal
It’s rules to this shit, I wrote me a manual
A step by step booklet for you to get
Your game on track, not your wig pushed back
Rule nombre uno: never let no one know
How much, dough you hold, cause you know
The cheddar breed jealousy ’specially
If that man fucked up, get your ass stuck up
Number two: never let em know your next move
Don’t you know bad boys move in silence or violence
Take it from your highness (uh-huh)
I done squeezed mad clips at these cats for they bricks and chips
Number three: never trust no-bo-dy
Your moms’ll set that ass up, properly gassed up
Hoodie to mask up, shit, for that fast buck
She be layin in the bushes to light that ass up
Number four: know you heard this before
Never get high, on your own supply
Number five: never sell no crack where you rest at
I don’t care if they want a ounce, tell em bounce
Number six: that God damn credit, dead it
You think a crackhead payin you back, shit forget it
Seven: this rule is so underrated
Keep your family and business completely seperated
Money and blood don’t mix like two dicks and no bitch
Find yourself in serious shit
Number eight: never keep no weight on you
Them cats that squeeze your guns can hold jobs too
Number nine shoulda been number one to me
If you ain’t gettin bags stay the fuck from police (uh-huh)
If niggaz think you snitchin ain’t tryin listen
They be sittin in your kitchen, waitin to start hittin
Number ten: a strong word called consignment
Strictly for live men, not for freshmen
If you ain’t got the clientele say hell no
Cause they gon want they money rain sleet hail snow
Follow these rules you’ll have mad bread to break up
If not, twenty-four years, on the wake up
Slug hit your temple, watch your frame shake up
Caretaker did your makeup, when you pass
Your girl fucked my man jake up, heard in three weeks
She sniffed a whole half of cake up
Heard she suck a good dick, and can hook a steak up
Gotta go gotta go, more pies to bake up, word up, uhh
Crack king, frank blizzard
Uhh

My 2p.
Maybe Ableton should give out a special serialcode for demo users then.
That would solve the problem also.

Or you get the option of registering in the forum after supplying e.mail details etc on download of the demo.
I do understand that people use warez - it's a fact of life that isn't going to change any time soon.
However if you use warez that's fine it is YOUR choice.
I still however get mega pissed of when users of Product X/Y/Z warez then frequent the companies own user forums and expect help. However I don't believe in going on a huge anti-warez rampage either. It is better for us as end users to educate warez users on the benefits of going legit and the ethics behind fiancially supporting a company who's product gives you hours of end user satisfaction.
If you're gonna warez it learn to use the product thing on your own.
The forums are there for people who financially support the company by purchasing the product and upgrades.
I don't see why they should recieve any help on the companies own product forums unless they go legit and buy / upgrade to the legal version.
Some - NOT ALL - warez users have no intention of paying for software and if they can get it for nothing they will.
I do think that this forum and LIVE as a product are very much a rare exception too the rule overall which says alot about how good LIVE is as a product.
I wouldn't for example purchase a black market Yamaha Motif and then contact Yamaha for hardware product support and PLG upgrade info now would I.
Why should software be treated any differently ?
Maybe my mindset is different because I'm a late 30 something old fart who did the whole save up and buy your hardware and learn to use ot on your own routine .
I know times change but if you use a warezed product at least be respectful enough to not think you have a RIGHT to benefit from the fruits of the user forums and legitimate end user experience also.
My aren't the wings of butterflies beautiful and do they not make wonderful perturbations.....
