Mac maintainance, Berlin?

Post by Plastic Hassle » Wed Nov 30, 2005 5:46 pm

Hi,
To cut a long story short I am having a world of pain with my PowerBook G4 laptop. I've been using it non-stop for a year and a half and it's started to seriously play up. I've reloaded all my software but things are still going wrong. Trackpad is temperamental, Ableton drops out frquently or freezes, my Edirol PCR1 is not working as it should and too many other nigglers to go into here.
Basically I'm looking for someone to sort out my laptop and software, to basically rebuild it from the ground up, clear out any unecessary software and give the hardware a good maintainance, clean etc. Someone who knows Macs and knows music software and it's requirments for optimum fuctionality.
I'm based in Berlin, any tips/names very much appreciated. I don't mind paying good money (within reason) for a good job.
Thanks for reading.

Is it crashing or locking up?

You got AppleCare?

did he just say nigglers?
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

or
http://fuxdata.de/

cheaper than gravis and very small, so you know they care

Thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully I can get this sorted soon and get back to making music. Have a great weekend.

Yeah, and sums up my present situation pretty accurately too... Also, anything I should be warned about before clearing out my system, reloading Live 4 and then upgrading to 5 with my serial number?

... you could visit the Ableton office, say hello to Dom and get Live installed there version there. Might save some time. We have good coffee, too.
