Live 3.0 is in Alpha!!!

Post by geargasm » Tue Apr 01, 2003 3:57 pm

I have information from a very credible source that Live v.3 is in alpha, and beta testing will begin shortly.

Features include:

1. Midi Sequencing Support - Now you can timestretch midi as you would audio!

2. VSTi support. New VSTi's to be introduced by Ableton are the Groovinator, a 3x3 clone; the Vibetronik, an electronic marimba / accordian; and the Bumpitron, a sampling drum machine.

3. Rex file support.

4. New effect: Thumplex. It takes any audio source and turns it into 4 on the floor house beat.

I can't wait to test this!

In tribute to Ableton, I am changing my legal name to "Thumplex G. Bumpitron".

April fools! :D

i found a blurb about Live 3 on a site whose url i forgot due to legal reasons.

"...instead the standard gallery of sample loops that shipped with previous versions of Live, version 3 will be bundled with a library of entire sample albums. No more pesky writers block ever! Every album in this series is mastered to perfection and ready to rock. Just load an album into Live, use CoverPicker JX Turbo (bundled with TitleGen Pro - free to registered live users and availible from Softmoric - see our review next week)to choose your album art and click on the big red button labeled 'burn'. Making music on your computer was never easier!"
