Impoting MIDI Files?

Hi,
Just installed Live 5 and I am importing some midi tracks I saved on my Yamaha Motif Keyboard and had a question. I place a midi track in Live 5 and I can see all the notes and everything looks as though it is there but when I take an insrtument in Simpler and drag in onto the track to see if I can hear the notes playing I get no sound although I can see the track volume levels clearly show they are moving up and down from the notes. I have tried other instruments to see if they would play but get nothing. Any help apreciated.

Check your audio routing through the sound card.

If you see the out levels changing (not as midi dots but as audio levels) but have no sound...
What if you drop an audio clip into an audio track and fire it - is there something coming out? If not, you audio set up seems all wrong.

My computers volume was turned all the way down.
