www.chromebags.com

They look good, built well (even have a carbon fiber bag). Cost between $75 - $120 though.

mad shout outs to chrome bags. i've been using one of the messenger bags for a couple of years, it's stood up to 4 serious cycling crashes including one that broke my collar bone and helmet. the bag is still waterproof and massive.

also, check out http://www.tombihn.com -- he seems to be making really nice bags of all sorts, although they are a bit pricey.

i can't remember from the original post what type of lappie you're using, but for hard cases shop around for a zerohalliburton. i use a 15"PB and own a DZ3. the interior of the case fits the PB like a glove. the only downside is that there isn't much room in the case.

but, i'll carry two bags if it means that the PB is secure.

later,
BDS
