Lag problems in Live with 1 ghz Powerbook

Post by Silver » Wed Apr 09, 2003 11:17 pm

First, Live is a superb tool, never been so complete breathtaken of a software!! After trying the demo, I bought it and a G4 powerbook aswell.

After using about 5 channels with a few effects I experienced
a lag and find it hard to drag the effect nobs nice and smoothly,
it´s more like a lag slowmotion feel, which isn´t that inspiring.

I have the latest OS X on a 1 ghz powerbook 512 ddr ata 100 HD and no other apps, thousands in colors, and find Live not that optimized for
this G4 powerbook.

Is there anything I can do about the lag or cpu load?

Honestly, Im not pushing my machine to do a heavy job, just
to playback a few tracks with little effects on...

Please let me know what to do here, I love Live and don´t want to
take this Powerbook back to the store just because of this.

I solely bought a Powerbook for running Live Live....and so far
I´m not happy with my G4 1 ghz or is it a 133 mhz, seems like that...

just do a quick search over this forum. It's not unusual... I'm with you. I use live on a tiBook 867 and I am definetly not happy with my cpu load, but... well... it's a mac :-)
