Extracting Tempo Information from a long loop

Post by Guest » Thu Apr 10, 2003 11:28 pm

I've just been messing around with the Live demo. I've got a long loop of an acoustic guitar vocal performance and I've been going through and setting warp markers. Unfortunately, some of the stretching has not so great artifacts.

So here's my question, I know you can use the master track envelope to change the project tempo in really time. But is there any automated way in Live, to make the project's tempo track the tempo changes in one file (i.e., extract the warp metric of one file import it as the tempo envelope for the project).

That way, loops and so one would link up. And I suspect that since these sorts of loops are really pitch, the likelihood of artifacts would be less of an issue. Moreover, this might yield a sound that is more like that of a drummer and bass player following tempo dynamic of the singer/guitar player.

Obviously, that should be "real time."
