Preferably, we should meet at a place with an Ableton Live setup so people can bring in their stuff and inspire or learn from each other.

Yes indeed. So a place where we have some freedom te experiment would be best then. So if someone knows a small venue with a sound installation we can use, we can set up Ableton there pretty easy.

Let's do it in your house Nixon, I can drink all your beer, smoke all your dope, snort all your coke, hit on your girlfriend & put a virus on your computer.

Saturday's good for me.

I think a term of about one to two months should be possible.

Cool, I'm in.

What shall we do in our first session, besides smoking dope, drinking beer, hitting on girlfriends, etc?
1 learn each other cool tricks?
2 show our work?
3 invite a famous dutch Ableton user: Junkie XL, Armin van Buuren, Matthew Dekay?
4. produce a one-session track?
5. elect a board and establish an official User Group?
6. brainstorm over next event?
7. exchange samples, mp3's etc?
8. do a jam session?
9. play Battlefield 2 over a LAN?

Anyone?

Yeah!

Cool, as long Armin van Buuren doesn't show up :D
4. produce a one-session track?
Nice plan, definitley. Funking with the music with everybody should be really interesting.
5. elect a board and establish an official User Group?
Let's just see how it all works out during the first meeting, and let develop it some more by itself, before we get ahead of things.

Ok, so lets's stick to showing tricks and work and if there's time left, do a one session track.

Sounds cool to me

I'm part of the group that organises the events programme at OT301 [old Film Academie on Overtoom]...

Could be the ideal space for this proposed Amsterdam user group to meet up. I'd be happy to help arrange a get-together here if there's enough interest.

Count me in ! Let's crash a bar with all our laptops and have one corner reserved for the Mac vs PC debate, one corner for the I still think Live 3 was better debate... :) And maybe another one where we all take our mobile phones and start harassing Ableton by phone about dual processor support.

Anyway, I'm in Utrecht and I'm a little busy but let me know if your planning something.... allert {at} bigtime [dot] demon (dot) nl

Groetjes !
