Which Music Download site do you use?

Post by DepthOne » Sun Jan 08, 2006 6:09 pm

Hi,

Just wondering which music download site all you Ableton DJs use to get the best up and coming tunes from ? I use www.beatport.com but wondered if there are any more hidden out there?

Martin 808, Which ones are shit? Just out of interest. if you think the're all shit then fair enough. What kind of music are you hoping to listen to?

I can't believe out of all the mp3 download sites you haven't found one tune that does it for you.

I like www.bleep.com myself. It always delivers something when i don't know what i want to listen to.

Would be interested to hear of other sites just because it's great to be able to trawl through loads of music.

My favorites are the following:

www.edmdigital.com
www.audiojelly.com
www.beatport.com

I'm a big beatport fan because I can just go through and preview everything - it's a great way to find new music.

Dont really use pay for download sites that much but when I do www.bleep.com seems to be the only one which has anything I like on it.

Im still waiting to see if www.juno.co.uk can get there digital downloads sorted out. That would be awesome.

mosca: fuckin right!

the stuff i listen to is pretty underground electro/techno/leftfield/hiphop stuff thats usually only sells a few hundred vinyl copies. I still like the odd mainstream thing and i suppose bleep.com or beatport are good for that, they've got some pretty good stuff. They just don't have everything, thats the problem. A lot of record labels only put a limited selection of their stuff for sale on mp3. Its still very much vinyl all the way as far as they're concerned...

when does juno start selling mp3's? will they be selling everything, just new releases or just a selection?

http://www.emusic.com/ for my private music. Maybe not the best choice if you're looking for cutting edge DJ stuff, but really nice to browse and discover new music.
