ok...

let's get on board Melbournites...

i suggest we organise it early Feb, when Mr Henke is in our fair city...

...see if we can get a guest speaker! (hint...hint...)

my suggestion would be the conference/presentation room at a well known music store on St. Georges rd, Fitzroy Nth... I can ask my contacts there to make it happen... it also happens to be across the road from a certain jam session in the Edinborough Gardens that is happening on Sunday 5th Feb.

who's in?

whatcha reckon?

:)M

Hi am,

I like it when you post becuase it means I can listen to some Winterpark music. Recently when I was on holiday I had a strange urge to listen to some of your tunes, luckily I had my laptop and went into my Cookie Jar and retrieved some of your tunes which had been saved as cookies! So I lsitened to them while floating down the nile. Just a little story for you... And no I'm not staying up late tonight, as tempting as it is, I will not be getting sucked into another hypnotic red wine and Winterpark session... just one beer and off to bed, and only a few listens to Nunn's Road, as much as I could listen to that over and over...Good luck with your Melbourne meet btw.

How many other Melbournites are there? I'm relatively new to Live but I'm a massive fan. I made the first tune that sounds anywhere near good last night (I don't own any other softsynths, nor a recording interface atm, so I'm running off Impulse and Simpler!).

What sort of styles do you guys work with? Are you all electronica? Do you guys play instruments as well?

When you say shadowesque, are you talking about the 'feel', or the venerable DJ himself?

What sort of artists/bands are you into?

Me, I'm into some of the following....
DJ Shadow
Radiohead
Bjork
Pixies
Pavement
Faithless
U.N.K.L.E.
Bright Eyes
Fugazi
Jeff Buckley
Massive Attack
RJD2
Sigur Ros
Stephen Malkmus
and many more.... just some of my favourites

i better chip in with what i'm in to.

i use live for electronic music [house, tech, breaks etc].

cant play a note although i'm trying learn.

like:

depeche mode
unkle
turin brakes
jeff buckley
motown

anything with soul and feeling and emotive content in genre

dislike:

electro house non-sense - lifeless soul destroying music

Count me in too.

All my musical shizzle is on my site (in the sig). It's mostly funky house, techno, and downtempo porn music. I'm also doing a live gig @ the Retreat Hotel Feb 4th if you'd care to come down :)

Alas, I think that's the same day Robert's in town. bah.

Im in ft. lauderdale, but would make the drive since there are so many resposnes from melbourne, I think it would benefit me to go and learn something (melbourne, FL..right?). I also just posted something on forming a user group if anyone is coming down south for WMC/MMC this year. Keep me posted.
