Novation X-station and Live with Powerbook 50ms latency!

Post by SongCarver » Fri Jan 20, 2006 11:27 am

something seems really odd here, can anybody help me out.

Previously was using a MOTU 828 with 1.67 Powerbook, through latency about 6ms with 200sample buffer.

Got meself a novation X-station 49 keys, and throughput latency is 50ms! crikey.

something must be wrong. I downloaded the latest drivers, restarted etc.

that is, there is 20ms in, and 20ms out which is out of my control. this amount of latency seems wrong, when previously i hazd used USB devices and got closer to 10ms in + out.

any ideas much appreciated,

(Latest OS X
Latest Live)

Keith.

ah, ok, some combo of updazting novation os, the mac os and reinstalling drivers seemed to fix the problem, now I'm getting about 7ms in and 7ms out.. which is usuable, not fantastic, but usable :-)

thanks all
