Then I'd invest in pork rind futures. They're the big thing. You can take your massive earnings from that and buy everything that was mentioned here.
THANK YOU. this is one of the best pieces of advice ive ever seen on this board. I love my high back. means way more to me than these frickin mackie 824's. lol.

Do it right. Chair it up.

ANALOG SYNTH!

Personally I also think protools is a good idea but a nice HD system and Computer will eat up your $20k pretty damn quick.

Nice computer
Nice Interface
Nice Mic
Nice outboard fx (Lexicon Reverb)
Nice Digital or Analog Mixer (Yamaha or Soundcraft respectivly)
Nice Monitors
Nice Compressor (Tube)
Komplete 3
Waves
Some sort of software controller (Hui, BCF, UC-33)

Vibing on the chair too

Try them all and see what suits you. Ableton Live changed the way I do everything, Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, Sonar, Live, it's all out there, there's no one solution for everyone.

As for gear lust, ever try Shermann Filter Bank? 8O

Wih the computer, get one that's as expandable as possible. That's the best way to get the most life out of a PC.

Go video!! Buy some DVD mixers, a projector and a bathtub full of blotter acid.

All the kit in the world is useless unless you can write a marketable tune that somebody wants to hear and perhaps buy, unless it's just a hobby to you.

If you can already do that, you're well on your way...

I'd probably buy a second hand Nord Lead and nice chair, maybe a better desk

then

I'd get a flat screen plasma and hook a XBOX 360 to it

get a nice couch for the homies

I'd start smoking weed again and buy a couple pounds

maybe some new carpet

better storage for my vinyl - I got records stashed in every nock and cranny

I'd pay off some old bills and student loans (I learned nothing at the Art Institute of Seattle FYI - actually I learned how to roll a blunt without using a blade, I can peel 'em apart with my fingers)

and maybe some fancy monitors

but other than that - you could take a hot escort www.eros-seattle.com to vegas or go to the bunny ranch and kick it for the weekend

save the rest for a rainy day

I would buy a cello and hire someone to make me a polyphonic hybrid analog/digital synthesizer. :D

RODNEY PUTER
is not serious guy hes not haveing 20k because he dont think anythiinks from suggestions but important he not pay any sense to suggestings of good hardware or pro tool that I mention early. He could have HD system + Live + analog front end + some decent ouboxes.
people here talking for chairs and big fancy screenings but only two peope suggest proper things becauyse they must having experienmces with gear professional that soundings great than only software like live.
