dearest QUANDRY,
i promise you it is his age alone that has brought him to anyones attention, not anything more. I suppose file management skills alone can put you sitting right next to Aphex Twin. Have you listned to any audio samples from his webpage? Stale Stale Stale. Tony Williams would crawl out from his tomb and spank the little brat....

Wrinkled Mac G4 dual 1.25, Tascam FW-1884, stupid Novation Remote 49, sparkely drumkits, broken studio A/C, and piles of other working junk, etc..
it appears your are flying solo here, dissing a 12 year old kid, everyone else here is impressed. I'm sure you've hung out with tony williams a lot and know just how he would feel about this, so of course you can speak for him not that he's passed away. And surely Dennis Chambers and Billy Cobham are just caught up in the hype, and they obviously don't know what they're talking about either. right. Anyhow, even if you don't like what he's playing, the choice of material, how can you deny that the skills, proficiency, groove, and musicianship aren't there--they are. I don't know why I'm even bothering, have a nice life.

Your right, I apologize. He's actually doing it and what am i doing? Sitting all alone at my computer wondering how i could be 33 years old already with nothing to show except a life of loneliness and an ass load of half-finished Live Sets. I guess i just wanted to throw a little stupid excitement into this forum. And what have i accomplished by doing so? Created a few more enemies. Perfect. If you don't have any friends, create some enemies. It sure takes less energy............sorry all......................

she couldn't be any cuter even if she was wearing a bunny suite.

It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.
on the subject on incredible drummers I thought I'd add a few in:
http://www.kjsawka.com/index.php
-live Dn'B. Amazing. His site does not do him justice. Needs more vids/mp3s, but he is mind-blowing live.

This is actually a death metal drummer from Canada, but the guy has skills. Just check out the quicktime.
Myself, I'll hurt all of you with my octapad and you'll scream for your mommies, but once you hear my drum technique, your screams will be become immasculated . . .more like small dainty cries of flipper babies.

word dude, Kevin Sawka is effing mind-blowing live--unbelievable. Super nice dude too--I talked shop with him about 2-3 years back when his old band, Siamese, came to my town. They were alright as a band, but he was leaps and bounds beyond the keyboardist and bassist. He had about 30 rack spaces full of gear to process and loop his drumkit--2 electrix repeaters, some electrix filter queens, eqs, compressors, all sorts of shit, plus a mixing board--not to mention his drum kit was insane too--hybrid acoustic (with ddrum triggers) and midi pads, a remote (as in hooked up with a flexible mechanical shaft) hi hat (must have been like 8"--tiny) as well as a regular hat, a few snares, a whacky tower of stacked cymbals--it was awesome.
This dude is the real deal, and you're right, the sight doesn't do him justice--it needs a few live videos of him going off to show what he can do in real-time. I remember preaching to him about using live on a laptop and how much fun he could have with it, but I don't think he was buying it at that point--wonder if he is now. Anyhow, one more awesome drummer to check out--Zach Velmer from the band Sound Tribe Sector 9--amazing.

I just did, the 12 year old is better. More surprises, more complicated polyrhytms, more original, more 32nd notes, better timing.chagos wrote: http://www.flomounier.com/en_media.html

Not that surprising cuz he's black.
love that one, it cracks me up how he actually gets down on the solo with such crappy gear--hats off.djsynchro wrote:(For those of you who haven't seen it yet)
