Mac help needed. switch from OS X.3.9 to Tiger questions

yo,
I was thinking of switching to os x.4 so i can use Pro Tools 7, but i don't want to have to reinstall all of my plug ins, programs, etc.

Is it possible to install 10.4 and keep all the old programs? So i do not have to reinstall and re-authorize everything?

Otherwise . . ugh, thats one heck of an install I can look forward to.

wasn't to bad here, some drivers/plugs needed updating, go to the manufacturers websites for your stuff and see what they say, Live worked just fine for me as did all my plugs, needed some new drivers for my midisport 2x2 and my Traveller.

doesnt sound too bad, although I'm worried about Native Instruments. Their installs and authorizations all ready suck bad enough without having to deal with compatibility upgrades.

Had no problems at all here other than a couple of minor updates. Back up your current system using carboncopycloner so if it all goes too to shite you can just go back again.
