Your top 5 albums of the last 5 years

Post by ekko » Thu Apr 20, 2006 4:22 pm

Looking to broaden my library and horizons a bit. Genre irrelevant, what have been your favorite albums that have been released in the last 5 years?

I don't know about the last 5 years, but these records changed my life in the last several...

Luomo "The Present Lover"

Akufen "My Way"

Arcade Fire "Funeral" (Not life changing but damn good)

Cap N Jazz "S/T" (ok over 5 years old but I listen to this record for days in a row every Spring)

Black Starr (Ditto...)

Beck - Sea Change
The Beatles - Let It Be... Naked
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
The Crystal Method - Tweekend
Sasha - Airdrawndagger
People Under The Stairs - Original Sound Track

That's off the top of my head from the last 5 years, I'm sure I'm missing some.

DEFINITELY get Blackstar (1998), that album changed me. If you dig that, get Mos Def's Black On Both Sides (1999).

Was going to say this too.

Also Kate Bush - Ariel.

Can't say I listen to much from the last five years though!
