Foot control for Ableton

Post by TS » Thu Jun 08, 2006 12:27 am

Has anyone tried to use foot control for ableton? I am a keyboard player and my hands are pretty busy. I had the idea to maybe use midi foot control for the clips and scenes in Ableton.

i'll sell you my fcb1010 for $75 + shipping. it works perfectly, has a little bit of wear and tear, nothing to great to mention, but it DOES have the word 'a-team' spray painted on the bottom (don't ask). who knows, maybe you're an a-team fan and that just sweetens the deal for you.

Do you know if your controller has the latest eprom upgrade?Even if not I am still interested but am not sure what the upgrade will cost.

i'm not sure what the newest version number is. if they've updated it in the past year, then no, if not, then it's the newest. i forget what version it is. i got it two years ago and stopped using it a year ago, so that's all i know. those updates are apparently a bitch, or at least they were back in the day, because you need to get something that could write to the rom chip and apparently that's expensive or something. maybe i'm making that up, though.

the footpedal kid beyond uses, is really annoying to try to program.
and its way to heavy. + less you can do with it, in my opinion. if messed with both.
a fcp 1010 is the way to go.
specs: macbook pro, OS10.4.7, 2.2ghz, 2gig ram. Live 6.0.10

There's an alternative eprom that you can place in the socket which sounds pretty good, lets you do momentary CC effects which I think would be a lot of fun.

I haven't tried it but a good friend of mine uses an FCB with this chip regularly for gigs and loves it.[/quote]
