i also have to say that this is the first skin ive felt compelled to really install.

i do however like angstrom's too, but i grew up with black backgrounds and i think i'll stick with that.

I abree 100%. I never even though about skins until I saw this today...

Bummer, I don't think it will work in Live 2.0, which is what I have still!

I think the black would be a great skin for using while playing out live, in a dark club. That way the computer screen doesn't light up the booth like broad daylight.

Also, a gentle reminder to sweetjesus that as you turn over a quad-digit post, say for example your 3000th, you must give mad props to me. This is a tradition on this forum, so don't go an screw it up or anything.

thanks a lot for the dark skin. it looks.. errrr....bright!

i'd love it with more clip colors indeed.
another weakness (if i may) is that the playhead of a midi clip won't change color whether OVR is on or not.
AND i would have loved to have the selected scene white.

but thanks anyhow!

i've just spent 2 hours redesigning my live set with this new skin, and i must say that it's much more clear now.
i actually found that having only 3 colors available forced me to categorize more acurately my clips.
i had to think in terms of light/heavy, harmonic/unharmonic, acoustic/digital, with voice/without voice samples... quite a brainstormer...

so, thanks again for this skin.
i'm going to try it on saturday, i'm doing the opening show for plaid... pretty excited....

A couple of comments from a usability perspective:

1. The second version is much better than the first because of stronger contrast. The white midi and wav drawings are essential and critical - in the first version selecting something made it blue on blue which wasn't very good.

2. Along those lines, in the second version on my CRT, the green looked ok, but on the LCD of my laptop, it's very hard to gauge accurately. By green, I mean the meters as well as any flashing arrow of a clip queued up to be played. When I flipped back to some of the skins that came with Live 5, I noticed that the bright green stands out because it is almost always on a black background. Therefore, having the green on a white background makes it hard to see. I suggest one of two options: 1. Make the background darker (but this is counter intuitive to an already dark skin) or 2. Make the meters and flashing triangles a diferent shade of green (or another color even), perhaps dark green, so that the contrast on white is much better.

3. Again, with contrast, the midi editing becomes difficult because the lines that quide you based on the quantization are very very dim. They could be brighter, a lighter grey perhaps.

4. Overall, the eye strain is much reduced, and overall, this is an excellent skin. Any thoughts on the next update?

I'd love to have the meter's background black or have the meters be darker. I guess the 1st one is easier to do.
