hey guys, im going to pick up a midi controller this week. i was looking at the remote le for its price. automap seems nice, but i think i can deal without it and all the problems people have been having.

has anyone had any trouble with this controller? thanks for any advice guys!

Well, and this is a bummer if you can't get one, the le 49 is about 250? The maudio axiom 49 is 250 and I'm just diggin' it. Had to send an sl remote back because too many problems.

i bought the 25 LE, mostly as a temporary solution till i can try an SL or Alesis Photon in person. it works well and the keys do feel really good, enough to justify the bragging on the box. they don't have aftertouch though, which i tend to use a lot. the pre-configured templates work well but i think that the plastic overlays are pretty flimsy. it's easy to edit and save templates and the knobs feel decent enough, even if they might not be 100% consistent with eachother. i'm finding it really shines in Logic and controlling Sculpture with the touch pad is cool. at the end of the day it's not a long term solution for me but at $89 it will make a great portable unit and it even comes with a free VST Bass Station.

what problems did you have eyeknow?

i actually just got it yesterday and it works well. one key is a little sticky but it seems to be freeing up.

also i cant figure out how to use the y on the xy pad in ableton, did you have this issue too?
the buttons aren't too well designed in the pressure thats required to turn them one.

its a bitch configuring this thing for use with stylus RMX, though i guess anything would the way that program is designed. terrible interface. ableton should give them a few lessons.

i had a play with the sl and i thought that it was a ripoff considering the sliders and the buttons suck - very sticky and low resolution. decided to go cheaper for now and save up for a really nice motorized controll surface. thinking the mackie. mmm.

a. the sl is allot like you said, sliders and knobs are sticky/unresponsive. I I used a remote le at gc and it was ok, just thought it was a bit pricey.....that's just me.

b. I never got the x/y to do anything.......I'm sure you will though. It seems that with live you have to open the control parameters and set it up through midi learn. If someone has a better idea, please chime in.

c. Did I see 89 bucks for the 25 key? That's INSANE cause at gc (or anywhere else) it's like 179

d. The mackie controller is just pure dope..........it's totally sick. We just used one about a month ago and I just fell in love. I don't "personally" need it enough to shell for one.......but I loved it. The axiom is really not for the contollers as much as the keys. I wanted 49 nice felling keys.......and I wanted after touch.......AND I did not want the joystick!!!!!!!!!!

the answer to your controller worries is an octapad.
