Is there a fix for guitar rig yet?

Post by Zirus Blackheart » Wed Jul 05, 2006 6:55 pm

Hay all, is there or will there be or how do I ect a fix for guitar rig in ableton live 5?

It worx without a problem in live 4 but not in 5, total crash ect :-(

I`m running windows xp pro.

Also, I was writting a track in live 5 with a load of synths and drums ect and it was sounding good but I decided to add a guitar riff and I went and, without thinking, went and loaded guitar rig so it totaly crashed :-(

When I try to reload the set it crash`s, I think I must have saved it after I put the guitar rig track in.
There a way to save this song?
Even If I remove the guitar rig VST from my folder the song still crash`s when I try to load it :-(

Any ideas?

Cheers :-)

Which version of GR? Are you using Rig Kontrol? Mac or Windows?

Guitar rig 1, V 1.1.0.002 and its PC :-)

It`s just a VST because I run my guitar straight into my emu 1820m.

i have no problems with using guitar rig in the live 5 (though it can be harsh on the CPU). i know that's not really helpful, but i haven't seen anything indicating that guitar rig just doesn't work with live 5 (not sure what version of live i'm up to, i think .02).

Update to 1.21- one of the things fixed in 1.21 was the Live crashes.

I'm running Guitar Rig 2 (software only) version. The only problem I've run into so far is that if I exit Ableton un-gracefully, sometimes the Ableton process keeps running even though it doesn't appear on the screen visually.

Usually I have to boot the computer; I can't even stop Ableton from the Task Manager (it doesn't appear as an application, only as a process).

Don't know if this has to do with ASIO or hung MIDI or VST (I also run DR-008).

Guitar rig crashes Live when you change presets, i've reported it many times and was totally ignored, I use the last versions of both program.

Doesn't crash on my Powerbook. I use latest version of both programs too and the Rig Kontrol foot pedal.

I know how to kill processes. Right clicking doesn't work.... at least for me....
