HUGE Live 6 Screenshots (plural!)

Post by AdamJay » Fri Jul 14, 2006 11:03 pm

i got the OK from Alex to post this:

here's a screenshot of the latest alpha (DISCLAIMER: its an Alpha, things change... this may very well look different once the beta drops, or when the final release is ready)

and warning, its big about 1900x1000 pixels or so.

This screenshot shows the new Sampler instrument, loaded with a Kontakt library (funkstorung!) from Synthetic Drums Vol. 2.
It also shows the NEW MIXER look.
which is totally resizable, not just horizontally but you will see vertically as well.

included in the new mixer is a numerical field to manually type in your value (-6.7dB for instance). Also a numerical indicator as to what your peaks are in a track. When they cross 0dB they appear yellow, when they do not they appear grey.

Note Length, EQ8 (and its Right/Left independent eq capabilities), Saturator's Waveshaper, Utility's new look, and Sampler's modulation page are also shown.

I'll be posting more screen shots soon.

so .. here it is:

eq & saturator look very cool. nice metering details as well.
are the two buttons/meters at the top of the faders meters for level position & overload?
nice :D

no, however the track status display (pie chart looking thing) is now freely assignable. Which gives further options for switching between viewing devices and clips .

the new features are fantastic. the macros and controller mapping are more powerful than i thought. and i love the new mixer look. i like how you can make the track widths smaller but still retain fader length.

yes
the box with square edges is a field where you can click and type in your precise fader value (-5.7dB for instance)

the box with rounded edges is a meter which displays the peak output of the track. when it exceeds 0dB it lights up yellow.

That is the extra window for the sampler zone editor - very handy.
mbp 2.66, osx 10.6.8, 8GB ram.

This is what multitrack warping looks like.

In this instance i am warping 3 audio tracks which were 3 microphones used to record a drum set.

notice all the other clip level parameters that are available to edit over all 3 tracks. (transpose, warp mode, etc.)

Ahhhh... Looks like you've got it set up so you can control multiple faders with one slider on a midi controller, yeah?

I like the new Utility. It's more inviting, looks like more people will experiment with it now, which is good. That's one plug I bet a lot of users don't utilize (pun intended).

The Sampler looks neato. My favorite bit at first glance is that it looks like they have simplifed setting up zones with it, is this the case?

Gee whiz, I want to be one of the 500 beta testers.
