yeah, we want a more representative splash screen!

What are you trying to say?

None of this 'd be happening if it wasn't my day off and I'd actually made it into the beta circle

tee-hee

what I was trying to say is that rather than a flowering of violas and grand pianos, a more representetive image for Live users would be a vectorised flower of balding nerds hunched over laptops in traditional early 21st C 'email checking' posture. Interspersed with little trolls saying "I the biggest selling DJ in the world you suk"

I don't know why they didn't go for that. Surely that would sell ?

BTW: I'm sure YOUR splash will get a lot of use on the forums as a troll stopper :)

For the time being here are some more trolls.

Live 6 - For Pinheads

Can the Abes keep the 'Fish Fillets' in the pinhead edition or do we need to buy the $100 box o' fish sticks?

The troll logo should be the OT Forum tag.

That's because the shine on the guys head didn't translate to negative very well, it was totally without hair. Maybe if people would donate a photo of themselves then we could create a really accurate version.

The new logo has bothered me since I first started seeing it. I think it sends the wrong message. Sure I get the idea behind trying to appeal to those that wouldn't use something like live to do their recording but I don't think it plays very well.

First of all the color green that has been used for Live has almost become a trademark. The graphic of the potentiometer is as well. I was even onboard when they added the doppler shift image. I thought that was clever

This new one is too busy. It is cofusing to the eye and doesn't allow you to visually settle on any part of the image. It reminds me of a pile of felt board cutouts. The rule of graphic design is to get your idea across as simply and elegantly as possible while still looking unique. This doesn't cut it on any of those.

plus there are just too many darn violins on it!
3ghz Pentium 4 (Prescott), XP Sp2, 1gig Ram, Dual Monitor with Matrox Millenium, MOTU Traveler, Event EZ8 Adat card. Also IBM THinkpad t40 1.6 1 gig ram

Oddly, I met someone recently who uses Live for performance work and her main instruments are violin, trombone and piano . The new logo is perfect for her!
I can't imagine she represents a huge segment of their market though.
