Hello-
I have an ancient Korg DW-8000. For those of you not familiar with the device, the interface is awful. I thought it would be fun to create an interface in Reaktor and use Kore to control parameters. I'm having trouble assigning parameters in Reaktor, but only because the korg manual is written in ancient midi sanskrit. If anyone has a working implementation chart for the DW-8000, EX-8000, or DW-6000, let me know.... I'd love to breathe new life into an old beast.
Thanks,
Silverfish

You forgot to say how awesome the DW8000 is and how much you love it, I know you do. I have one to.
I've been looking at controling mine with a bcr2000 but haven't gotten around to it yet.

That guy hase some info on using a Kenton Control Freak to control some parameters.
Most of the sysex stuff I've found for it simply give you patch loading/dumping options.
I use SoundDiver or the DW8000 editor software to keep track of patches mostly.
Here's more info untill I get a chance to figure some things out.

Hey thanks for the info. Unfortunately, Reaktor doesn't have a means of communicating sysex messages to external hardware, so I may be out of luck. I may look into creating a vst plugin as a virtual controller/patch editor for the board, but frankly, I dunno if I'm up to the task. Pd or Max/MSP anyone?
And while we're on the topic of sysex, how does Live handle those messages?
PS- I love my DW-8000. It was my first synth, and I bought it at a pawn shop for like $90. I don't think I could ever part with it.

I think it works with DW8000 too, but i'm not sure. If someone can confirm, please let me know.
Good Music! Séb.
