All-time fave has to be Tool - Aenema.
My tastes have matured over the years however, the plethora of music today makes it near impossible to single out new favourites. Instead, genres, whole net-labels and discographies seem more what i hone in on, rather than one specific artist or album.

best album of all time is black flag's 'first four years'. I'm not sure if it counts since the tracks were originally released as singles.

That album? Sea Change, by Beck. And I'm not even a Beck fan really... but that album is the quintessential work of art to me, it is perfect in every way. You can really feel the emotion in the songs, and you can appreciate the craftsmanship that went into the composition and the production.
Just thought I should give this a bump as since you introduced this album to me I have listened to it so many times and I agree it's pretty special!
thanks!
Since it's getting all sappy in here again I thought I'd add my thanks to the users who mentioned Sea Change - I just got this album and it's opening up new horizons...
^ teat.
I look forward to going through the top albums lists again in the future, I'm not going to list mine right now as I just couldn't be arsed.
