The Best Album Ever.
I saw them on that tour. Bill Bruford was an animal on the traps. He had an entire wall of percussive surfaces suspended in back of him. And, he was attacking everything in sight. There were two mellotrons onstage. The house sound was stellar (N.Y. Academy of Music, which in later years became the Palladium). Fripp allowed that they never thought they'd get to play New York again. I had seen them previously in '71 when they toured in support of "Lizard". On that show, they were 2nd on the bill to Procol Harum. And the opening act was Yes. THAT was the best I'd ever seen.Finefeat wrote:King Crimson - Larks Tongues In Aspic
This LP came out - I was in college (see photo, below left) and I turned a whole bunch of people on to it. The first power chords after that long buildup had a roomful of stoners gasping in wonderment. Some 45 minutes later they were all converts.
