I'd forgotten about this thread until today when I was searching for a post I made this morning. 19 pages, pretty cool. And a whole lot of music got passed around, which is exactly what I was hoping for.
So, I'm gonna bump this again. Not to mention, My list has changed around a little bit since 2006. Beck's Sea Change is still #1 and increases its lead pretty much every time I listen to it. I'm kicking myself for not checking out that Serge Gainsbourg album mentioned early on as that was a majorly heavy claim on it.
Anyways, my updated list, the other 4 not in any particular order...
Sea Change - Beck
Lost Souls - Doves
Lush - Gala
Serena Maneesh - Serena Maneesh
Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place
And some honorable mentions just for kicks:
Solid Air - John Martyn
One World - John Martyn
Goodbye - Ulrich Schnauss
Isn't Anything - My Bloody Valentine
The Downward Spiral - Nine Inch Nails
When The Smoke Clears - Three Six Mafia
Ascend - Manual
Lost Days, Open Skies and Streaming Tides - Manual
...and a whole bunch of Antonio Vivaldi, for when I need a head cleaner. What can I say -- music's like a huge buffet, may as well try a little of everything.
