i wouldnt buy it...
you can do everything that sampler does with simpler and the racks...
i could be wrong on this but i honestly have not been able to find something that sampler does that simpler with racks can not do.

btw im not trying to talk down sampler (im more so talking up the rack and macro funtions.. REALLY WHAT CAN YOU NOT DO WITH THEM?) i just have not seen the advantages of having sampler.
feel free to let me know if there is something it can do that simpler can not do when added with the racks...

i'd buy it for 99. the fact that it's proprietary turns me off at the current price.

Do you have to be studying music to get the EDU discount? What if you're studying something else that has a crossover into electronic music? I'm studying Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, and I spend a lot of time learnig about audio hardware/software... does that count?

Oh, come on. I have an Akai S2000 that cost me $800 that I'd be lucky to get $100 for on Ebay. A software sampler with the feature set of "sampler" should be FREE.

I'd buy it again. phtphtphtphtphtphtpht

There's other stuff out there, but no buyer's remorse here. Just drop in any sample, mangle, serve over ice, and enjoy.

I type this as my Akai S2800 sampler sits on its side collecting dust. Looks cool though.

You just have to be enrolled in a accredited school - and have some kind of proof you're enrolled

doesn't matter what you're studying

Yes, I agree that 199 EUR is perhaps a little high (considering you don't get the EIC with it), but $99 for a sampler? You're cheapskates, the lot of you.
No, we're just not as rich as you, apparently.

Of course they can charge as much as they want, but they'd sell more if it was a bit cheaper, ans seeing as there are no recurring hardware costs involved in constructing or shipping a download (or at least none that they don't already have for constructing and shipping Live as a download) it could be cheaper and I'm sure they'd sell more. Maybe even loads more - which would compensate for the cheaper price.

I'd buy it for example. And if another person would then they've already made 199 € which they wouldn't have made before.

man....you guys are fucked up here. I did a poll awhile back and 50% about said they wouldn't pay US$50.00 if Sampler (AND Operator for that matter!) was included into LIVE as a 1 package deal....and now alot of you are saying you would pay US$100.00 for it.

This community is out of its mind.... Obviously it's all about the buzz right now...."buck fever" at its best.

here's the poll, see for yourself:
