The Covert Operators: Impulse freebie 01 and 02
The Covert Operators: Impulse freebie 01 and 02
Hey guys and girls,
Here's a little rack that will come in handy for those heavy duty drum sequencing tasks.
It's 16 impulse's that are mapped from C-2 to G8.
Although 128 slots might be a bit overkill, you can adjust your racks to taste.
All the notes are mapped chromatically.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And this is a usefull little rack I call the "HiHat Machine"
Slots 7 and 8 of 16 Impulse’s have been chromatically mapped from C1 to F#3.
In other words, only the last 2 slots of each Impulse will respond to notes.
Slot 7 of Impulse 1 responds to C1.
Slot 8 of Impulse 1 responds to C#1.
Slot 7 of Impulse 2 responds to D1.
Slot 8 of Impulse 2 responds to D#1.
And so on…

Because only the last 2 slots on the Impulse have a choke group (the link button).selthym wrote:Haven't tried the Hi Hat machine yet but could you help me understand why you only mapped the last 2 slots of each impulse. I would have thought you could use less impulses = less CPU if you just loaded each impulse full of different hats and mapped each of these cells.
Meaning that those are the only 2 slots usable for hhiats that cut into each other.
Yeah I added it to site.selthym wrote:I new there would be a reason
Sometimes I forget to mention the not-so-obvious things like why something was done in they way it was done.
I use Simpler racks for drums and used Sampler for HiHats. But Impulse Hihats do seem to have better results with shorter samples.
And it's pretty useful to have 16 sets of hihats loaded up at once..
