Does anybody already received the Box with EIC?
How it sounds?
Are EIC worth the price?
Can you post some example?

I've tried one or two EIC Live packs briefly.

So far, my opinion is that they sound fantastic, but I can't seem to get the Grand Piano to play very well, sometimes some of the notes play late. Seems OK with the other packs I have tried though.

Currently trying to figure out how to take off the individual instruments that I don't need, cos the whole thing is a space hog.

With all this organized samples by note and velocity does it resemble hard disk samples playing like Steinsberg's The Grand more than a CPU generated sound?
In my opinion it shouldn't be a CPU hog, am I right?

Hi,

it certainly is no cpu hog. Even on my 800MHz ibook it runs under 2 percent.

No CPU issues, CPU monitor seems stable, but performance seems a bit poor

What do you mean by performance?
Latency might be high due to hard disk seek/read time.
I have some doubts about Hard Disk based sampling because
today dual core CPUs are powerful enough to generate sounds on the fly, but even SATA 5400rpm HDD (stock on most machines today) can be taxed especially during recording while playing back many tracks with EICs.
I think the best should be an HDD with samples, an HDD with Projects, like it was in the old days. Any comment?

It does seem to be the HDD that's causing the bottleneck. It's a 7200rpm SATA though, so it should be OK surely?

Like I said, I've not played around with it much yet (I was at The England match yesterday, waste of bloody tme that was), but I recall I had performance issues with Grand Piano, Grand Piano Lite and Grand Piano Ultra Lite too.

Will hopefully get a chance to play with it more today
