TORQ IS OUT!
But I'd like to record the scratchin' into Live...
[EDIT]
I actually use *2* mixers. The DJM for controlling audio from Live, and the Vestax 07ProD for scratching. The master out of the DJM goes to the Session in/through on the Vestax. The combined signal is then routed BACK INTO Live for recording. This way, the actual Live set can remain intact, while the audio from Live is cut/faded using the DJM and recorded as a separate track in Live. So I can overdub crap edits ad re-scratch/re-cut using Punch in/out...
There's also a UC-33e and a DM2 thrown in there somewhere for midi control...

but I went and fixed it. I said "you don't need extra outputs on your mixer", I meant "don't need extra outputs on your soundcard" becasue the torq hardware acts as a separate soundcard, which brings audio out via usb. Then you route the torq box into your scratch mixer, and scratch mixer into your souncard (ultralite or whatever). Now everthing is recorded in ableton.
Now the outputs of your ultralite go to the usual places - speakers, or your other mixer and then to speakers.

And your laughin'.

I don't know, I think torq has more options for play back types, and it uses ms. pinky timecoding technique. Also it's much less expensive than serato and has a sweet program full of effects and sample holders for triggering and bla bla bla.Patch wrote:Laughin' indeed! The credit card is already out!!!
Well - almost. I think I'll need to A/B it with Serato first. Serato looks like it was made for real vinyl beat juggling/scratching...
Decisions, decisions.......
For 300 bucks, good f'n deal.

I keep seeing this and thinking... does this mean Torq is gay?
I just want a spinning controller a little larger than the label on vinyl that's a controller to get jiggy with waveforms in Live, lugging around turntables is a beeeyotch!! And I'm sick of replacing crossfaders.
..that and I want sharks with frigging laser beams on their foreheads!!

I got my copy of Torq this weekend -but did not get to the control cd use yet
but It looks like this is not available when in rewire mode
the control options are greyed out when in rewire?! I hope there is a workaround...

its unfortunately true. something about torq not being able to sync to both the ableton timecode and the control vinyl/cd's physical location stamps (its not actually 'timecode' on the vinyl/cds) at the same time. it's one or the other.
sucks....

What I want is to have my synthesizer in Live, DJ my tracks in Torq with vinyl and play keys with the synth in Ableton so that the LFOs and sh*t are in sync with the Torq pseudo vinyl.
