ive got an ms-2000 and i love it.
does the jp have audio inputs?
how much polyphony does it have? the ms only has like 4 notes, but its usually all i need....
ive always heard the jp is great for trance sounds....

So does the JP8000 have a vocoder then?
's a Tough call, wish I could get both.
I make lots of vocal-based music, I'm after boomy bass and ambient sounds. Have a listen to some older stuff if you fancy at

'Perma' is probably the most representative of what I make, but it was made before I really got into synths.

corking synth. Those roland convertors rock hard.
The ms2000... nah not my thing but then i never liked any of the korg VA stuff.. their digital synths are another thing altogether and the mono/poly is an awesome bit of kit...
Roland for VA loveliness.. Korg for digital fun!
IMO of course.

8000 is obviously a much higher number than 2000, so it must be 4x as good.
However, that goodness comes with a price; sheer size. JP is the abbreviation for Japan, whereas MS is the modern abbreviated title for a unmarried woman. I would rather have a modern single woman in my studio than all of Japan, thank you very much... It's too small for an entire nation-state.
Besides, Korg sounds like a slang term for constipation. "gah, I've been all Korged up for the last five days, I'm ready to burst!"
Roland is a dude's name, and like I said before, I would rather play with a woman than a man.
So, you should try to find a Ms Korland 8000 - It's the best compromise.

but does it have audio inputs? running an audio line in and through the arpeggiator, delay, and filters is a deal breaker for me....
