I,m thinking of buying a firewire powercore unit.
Anyone with user feedback and performance news on using it with live before i buy ?

Tc powercore firewire
I asked about this on the powercore yahoo.group, and got a couple positive resonse (though I don't know that any were using Live). I've also seen some negative reports about it's stability on r.a.p. ...So, no clear verdict. Suggest buying it from a user you can return it to if needbe.
I'm probably going to wait a bit until they start showing up aftermarket and the price comes down.

Re: Tc powercore firewire
I use Powercore firewire with Live. It's ok but if you compare with Logic you don't have the same performances.
In a normal way, each plug take 15-20% CPU with Live on a PB800 with Motu 828.
You can have more performances but you feel the latency (in the plugz chaining particularly) if you adjust the Powercore settings & the Live buffer.

Don't do that...
Don't do it. Get an M-audio instead. Powercore is a good tool for plugs serving a mastering. Powercore as a firewire is still expensive and testing.
