Silverspike make a free plugin called "tape-it" that you insert anywhere in the audio chain. That could be across the outputs or in a track insert or even a send! when you hit the record button on the plugin it streams anything running through it to your hard drive. You don't even have to have the sequencer running so it's great for "capturing" malfunctions and stuff like that. It might be what you are looking for.
