seriously... same here.. I used it for years before I realised you could just look at the bottom of arrange.

I even worked out a math equation that I used quite often to figure the minutes/seconds sitting there with a pen and paper doing math all the while I could just look at the right spot on the screen.. ha
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

I too was stumped by this...and I still don't like it! Live should have a proper time readout, I'm really surprised it doesn't, considering both the live gigging and new video aspects...

I agree, it should have a seconds and minutes readout alongside beats and bars. At the moment there is no way of selecting a section and finding out how long it lasts, as in Pro Tools. Whilst I undertstand that Live is primarily a music productions software, with the addition of video import it is obvious Ableton want to move into other areas. I use Live for sonic branding and radio production and this function is something I need all the time.

Joking is obviously to subtle...

LOOK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ARRANGE AREA. THERE YOU FIND THE TIME IN MINUTES AND SECONDS.

(Sorry for that.)

That's not the point; the point is it should be a proper time display/readout, in its own box with numbers: H:M:S Along those lines, imho.

Funny, it took me forever to realize that in arrange too :) I would also like the time display for selections, and the current cursor location.

both of those pieces of information are available in the info bar.

Still, I personally would like a box at the top with numbers seperated by colons! Y'know, like every other sequencing program has!

just use the vst plugin from here:

does all of the time and bar location stuff, pretty much indipensable! :D

Clearscreen

HOLY CRAP MAN - YOU ROCK! :D

That's frickin' brilliant! Seems to work fine...where do you keep it? (I'm thinking lower left corner). So you just assign the first track to it, I take it?

I'm gonna post a thanks to that guy in KVR, cuz that's awesome........

Wait a minute...because it's a vst, it will only show when the track it's inserted on is highlighted, no? That doesn't really solve the problem, if it's not visible while I'm working. hmmmmm....
