IBM sold their laptop business to the Chinese firm of Lenovo. For several months after the sale, the adverts were co-branded, but now you will only see the Lenovo name.

My IBM Lenovo T40 1.5ghz 1gb Ram and 2nd HDD !
Gets same LIVE 5 performance test as my Sony Vaio 3.2 ghz !!!!

I think it was about 30%
Whatecer it was, I sold the VAIO cause it wasnt as fast and it only had 1 HD.

I can run Ableton 6 + Serato Scratch on it at the same time...

reminds me of what a mac used to do with 'lower' cpu speeds.

I dont think they have firewire,
but if they did it would be 4pin not 6pin
so its dodgy for soundcards with firewire in my experience.

It can work fine, just gotta pay attention and risk it.

I've got 3 T40/41s and got my daughter one, also. I love them to death. I don't have a ton of memory in them (yet), but they work fine for me, and I've had them for 2-3 years now.
What it is (for Now): (2) Lenovo Dual Core desktops, Edirol PCR-800, Sonar 8.5 PE, Live 8 w/Operator and Sampler, the unloved PT 8, Kontakt 4, Battery 3, GPO 4, mulititudinous plugs and libraries, much unused hardware. And... silence; much silence.
