About time! Have been waiting for this forever. I would like to know though which side the output is on the I/Ox. My headphone cable might get in the way of a USB port, depending on the side it's on.

Hmm, no mac support yet. I was waiting for this to buy a mbp. Guess I shall wait a little longer.

I love my indigo dj, but this is taking an ass-long time. The way Apple's going, by the time mac drivers are available, there won't even be expresscard on their computers.

Anyway, I'm glad it's out. Can't wait to hear some reports.

J

Look closer at the picture of the box.

How can you even start to compare the Creative card. That is a card designed for gaming and for listening to 5.1 media. I wouldn't recommend it for pro audio recording.

I had the last generation Echo Indigo IO PCMCIA card. The day I broke it, I was in tears, it was a terrific little card.

The only drawback was it's lack of a preamp, although I used an old Mackie mixer as my preamp when I was using the IO to record. It had great s/n ratio and operated at a low latency. I could run Reason with about 12 tracks at 64 samples and a similar number of Live tracks at 128 samples.

The best I can get from my FW interface is 192 samples for about 5 tracks and 256 samples for a dozen tracks if the plugin count is not too ridiculous.

Echo also supported the card really well. They even have Vista Wave RT drivers as well as several updated ASIO and Core Audio drivers over a long period of time.

hmmm... i thought "now shipping" meant it's available to the public. maybe it means it's shipping to retailers, and it will soon be available to the general public. i still can't find a price for it anywhere.

My bad! I am unobservant at times :)

Well, the headphone out is on the right side for me. Very happy, can't wait to get this.
