Gonna buy Serato Scratch!!!
Gonna buy Serato Scratch!!!
I just need to find a GOOD price. I've not been able to find it for less than £439 (approx. 650 Euro).
Does any body know where I can get a cheaper price than this on t'interweb? I'll be buying from Turnkey in London, and they'll price-match any internet price...
Can anyone help???

I just bought it and I didn't see much rythm as far as the price goes. Seems to be pretty much the same all over. I paid $499 US for it from Guitar Center.
Here in the States lot's of stuff goes on sale this Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Retailers call it "Black Friday" - supposed to be the biggest shopping day of the year and kicks off the Christmas shopping season. My wife urged me to wait for Black Friday to get Serato, but I wasn't hearing it. Anyway, I doubt there will be any sort of sale for Serato anyway, but who knows. Also, I'm not sure if a US sale would help you out either, assuming "Black Friday" is strictly a US phenomena.

I don't want you irritate on your decision, but have you hear about Ms. Pinky?
It's nearly the same as Serato and final scratch, but alot more flexible when it comes to different media types (scratching video and stuff like that..)
Take a look. Only 100$! Maybe it fits your need's. Btw. It's flawlessly usable within Live thru the pluggo plugins. Killah!
Will buy one next month.

There are so many competitors to Serato now that I don't recommend buying it.
I have Serato personally, but there are better programs out there. I reccommend MIXVIBES... it's basically half the price of Serato, offers more functions and it's pretty much better in every way.
Serato is great, don't get me wrong. Mixvibes is better.

Whoa - I've never seen mixvibes. It might be in the running, here! The problem again (with mixvibes) is:
Can I use it in parallel with Ableton (ie - at the same time, on the same machine?) and route the audio frommixvibes into Ableton for recording/looping?
[EDIT] HOLY COW - the more I read about this the more I want it!!! Scratch video?!? Hell yeah!!! VST Support?!? HELL YEAH!!! 1 (ONE!) ms latency through ASIO?!? HELL YEAH!!!
And, oh yeah - YOU DO NOT NEED SEPARATE HARDWARE!!! Just your soundcard...
(P.S - the fact that it matches the Mattsonic/Patch Skin for Live doesn't do it any harm, either! )
[EDIT II] Does anybody know why there is no need for phono pre-amps? I've been looking at virtualDJ as well, and there is no hardware required for that either.
I can remember a while back reading that you would ALWAYS need to amplify phono signals to get them into your computer for processing... What has changed to allow mixvibes/virtualDJ to do this without any pre-amps???

I'll assume you've tried 'em all?musick wrote:IMHO there is only one reliable 'vinyl emulation' product out and that's Serato Scratch Live.
Serato Scratch Live
Final Scratch 2
Torq
VirtualDJ
Mixvibes
Ms. Pinky
If that's the case, thank you very much for your suggestion - if that's not the case, what is your opinion based on?
Many Thanks!!! But it looks like I'm back at square one with the introduction of mixvibes into the equation!wilxon wrote:We can sell you Serato Scratch.
