[ angry rant ] Allen & Heath = idiots running business
Hello,
Just thought i'd share my recent experience in trying to obtain a 'state of the art' controller for Ableton Live.
For the last 3 weeks I've been itching to buy a xone 3d. As we all know they're not cheap.
I had been in the process of holiday travelling so I thought I'd get one from asia or europe on my way since theyre HALF THE FREKKIN PRICE of what they sell for in Australia over there.
The problem I have is that I cannot get a DISTRIBUTOR to show me a unit without paying upfront for one.
Fair enough if a retailer said this, but for god's sakes don't claim to be an international company with some kind of distribution if you can't live upto it.
So basically no matter how good or horrible the Xone 3D is, I won't be buying one now because I don't spend money with companies or their representatives who treat the customer like an idiot.
I don't know what planet these people are from, but if you happened to actually play with one of these controllers before buying, consider yourself lucky ... 3 continents and major countries later and I can't still see what they look like or how big they are, or how they feel or how they work.
Allen & Heath, you officially suck in my books.
Lemur or custom made job here i come!

I had to buy my Xone 3D sight unseen.
I returned it after 2 days for a refund.

It's just that with all the options out there for a 16 channel board to cost $1100 is kinda steep. I mean, it is a nice board but I remember when Allen & Heath weren't as mass produced and actually built in England. I should have figured...

Most of the Sales-Guys in Australia are a whole new BALL-Game when it comes to Distribution.
Most of them are insulted when you mention
that you have typed the name of the product into GOOGLE.
They whinge about CUSTOMER SUPPORT and get stroppy.
If it costs half the price ... WHEN it breaks i can buy a new one.
I had N.I. Kore for 3 months and it still did not work.
When i talked to the Distributer in Sydney,
- they took a week trying to avoid my questions.
- they asked for information then did not respond.
- they implied that i did not know how to set it up properly.
- they constantly responded with "thats hard to believe"
I took the unit back to the shop to get a receipt for its return.
IT DID NOT WORK IN THE SHOP... STILL.
The shop felt really really stupid. And gave me an instant refund.
Then i sent the distributor an email,
thanking them if they had "approved" the refund.
Never got a reply.
Some Australian Distributors are doing it tough because -
EVEN kids know about GOOGLE.

ok had a bit of a chill pillJohnDP wrote:wow Relax, Allen & Heath are not idiots...Andy Rigby Jones is a very fine man and so is the crew behind them, besides the company is smaller than you think, so in this case don't think the can control EVERYTHING...this may include a Distributor making some problems!
sent an email to A&H basically stating that id like to give them a chance but to be honest, this is not the first time ive spoken to them about distributor problems and its not just one distributor, but their entire supply chain across 3 continents.
