Pasha,
You can change presets in operator when in arrangement also using the hot swap feature. Of course this will clutter a little bit your track because changing a preset with Operator means that all possible parameter will change, it's not like a Program Change, it's more like a parameter massive change that is written as automation. I think this could also produce some gaps in sound (like Program Changes do sometimes).
Just for completeness of information.
In that case, this is not a problem for me if I used operator.
Indeed, I have two groups of tracks (when I would finish this f..g configuration, I'll post all!)
These tracks are:

1 drums
7 synth + sampler
what I'm looking for now is synth.

I use crossfader for making transition between tracks (indeed, I have time to change by dragging/droppin, I have no problem about gaps etc etc...)
But operator isn't very inspirative (for me...)

:-)

I'll check Surge, serotoninsteve!
thanks!

(I just tested Ultra Analog demo ........... WOWOWOWOWO!
the management of brwser, and almost THE SOUND!
sounds great for me
yeah the AAS stuff sonically kicks ass big time... a little tweak and ya' trousers are shakin'

I think of it this way.

If I suddenly lost everything and and to start all over, the first things I would buy again would be ableton Live 6 and zebra 2. That would keep me happy for quite some time.

For those who tested too, I'll have at the same time more of one instance of each VSTi that will work...

any problem about that?
may it cause browser/preset patch problem?

your so precious experience of these modules would be great !

I'll test it!

any ideas about the stability in a context where 5 or more VSTi instances of the same instrument are launched in Live 6.0.3 ??

I'm a big fan of the ImageLine products (Sytrus and Toxic)

Sytrus

Toxic III
3.2 GHz Windows XP, Live 7, Reason 4, FL Studio 7, Stylus RMX, Sytrus, Toxic III, Novation X-Station 49, Akai MPD24, EMu XK6, Roland MC-303, Gemini BPM5000 Mixer, MBox

sytrus and toxic...
I'll be ruined if I cannot choos one among all of these!

I'm insisting about the stability, and the management of the patch (via Live with fxb/fxp OR via the GUI)

what about that?
any experiences with theses synth ?

+1 for z3ta and the AAS synths. don't forget to check out the VIRUS mod for zeta - its free and turns it into almost a completely new synth. can't beat AAS for sound though IMO.

building a config with demo
2 x (2 blue + 2 surge + 1 sytrus + 2 Ultra Analog)
why 2x, because i have two group w/crossfader for transition
the most time: MAXI 4 instru at the same time not more!

ok

I don't understand all the management of preset etc but it seems to be so easy ... of course
but it works

BUT CPU peak ...
sometimes
don't know why
never reach 60%
but ...
cycle ... constant 8/9 and suddenly (without anything) 40 50 nearly 60
and down .... to 8/9
strange
I'm afraid before buying this soft...

any ideas?

I have both of these vst synths and they work within Live perfectly...they are easy on the CPU and both can do some amazing things.

If you are into the FM sounds that came from the DX-7's...Sytrus can import any sysex file from a DX-7, in fact there is a bounty of DX-7 sysex files available on the web that I've imported into Sytrus...they work perfect!

Toxic is another great-sounding, low CPU useage, synth...don't have as much experience programming it but one of the reasons I got it was because I love the way that the GUI is set up for tweaking and some of the presets are da bomb!

so cool!
I think I can say: my pretty config for stage & studio is complete!

I have to... buy now!

See u!
I'll post my own config soon
It may help someone, even if it isn't THE perfect config!!!

Often mentioned in the last weeks here. One of the favs here seems Zebra2. It has no gui-problems. It´s the great copy-protection from urs.
