just got back from NAMM

Set up stuff there all day. There are some surprises, IMO.

Can confirm the mini kaos pad. It IS small. Korg has a couple new synths, but also some hot shit DJ mixers that are soundcards (firewire) but have killer lights to indicate which channel is audio and which is MIDI and you can share each channel between the two. I was really surprised by these well done products...

Saw the new clavia. Beautiful stuff.

Saw Andy Rigby Jones of A&H, but he didn't put out the new mixers and 2D that he had on his person. Damn. Wanted to see it in real life. Ill check that out tomorrow I guess.

Mackie has some new updated MIDI surfaces it looks like. All in all, some good stuff to check out. I'll take pictures and post to my blog when I can if no one gets to it before me.

no new electribes in sight?
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

no electribe that i saw. was disapointed in that as well. but the sampler based synth (i think that what it is) was pretty cool. A beefier looking radias in a way.

it was okay. nothing spectacular - from my understanding, it is a revision with some updates, but its a big ol' piece of hardware, that's for sure.

It was telling that the MC-808, which was so prominent last year, is just set up (only one, that I could see) in a booth without any fanfare.

Secondly, there was a nice looking numark traktor controller too (not the silver looking one that has been linked to before, this was a new one).

And I couldn't find the M-audio DJ/controller gear that has that nice groovy leaked picture (the one that is darkened out but shows the lighted knobs and buttons). I was hovering all over their booth and couldn't see anything that resembled it.

nope. Not that I could tell. Everything was open and no secret banners or cloth covering things. So, I'd say no.
