MiA is great. She's got a good story too.

I really dig some of Diplo's stuff. I think he's a Live user too. http://www.ableton.com/diplo

She's good but not great IMHO. Mediocre MC skills, poor live performance and after a whle I get tired of her nonsense-chats. Her voice is great tho, Diplo's beats are awesome and she does have a totally unique story/vibe. I had her record on heavy rotation for about 3 weeks last year, haven't played it since...

That Brazilian Funk and some of the more underground Reggaeton is the sh*t tho. And of course plain old dancehall if you want to hear English speaking MCs. Capelton here in SF, soon come.

she's working with Timbaland on a new album as well.
Best,

i dont think so..M.I.A. she want to escape from the timbaland hype so she made a good choice M.I.A. has recorded in Tamil Nadu and Trinidad and Tobago for her next album, and a few tracks were originally going to be produced by Timbaland but she change her mind. However, according to a recent message board posting by Diplo, M.I.A. will be producing her new album all by herself.so i am glad shes taking control on her music..

Rocked her quite a bit for a while, close to two years ago now. I still like her flow, Diplo's beats. The MIA/Diplo 'Piracy Funds Terrorism' mixtape still kills. I will take it over Arular, generally, even though they share a lot of the same music/rhymes/songs. Haven't listened in a while. Not sure if I will pick up her new one.

She appears on a track on Timbaland's new album, but as far as him producing on her album that appears to not be happenin.

Baile in Portugese does mean 'ball', and this refers to a ball like a party. The title 'Baile Funk' is really, from what I understand something that came from critics/dj's abroad (ie. America, UK, etc.), not Brazil. In Brazil the term 'baile' just refers to the party, and the music is often referred to as 'funk carioca' or just 'funk'. Somewhere along the way, peeps outside Brazil combined the two separate terms.

Hehehehe, why don't you come next south american summer? Lots of americans/europeans come to Punta del Este, the exchange rate is quite convenient for you...
Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.
