Hi

Is there a utility that converts the touchpad into sending absolute values. Something like touchpad2midi by livelab? For mac?

If you click and hold with your mouse on the x/y circle you can drag it with the touch pad. But it doesn't appear to be mappable.

you can do this with controlAid. You can assign three different sets of cc messages to x y positions and turn the different sets on and off via keystrokes. You can use one set at a time or all simultaneously.

Hi interceptor,

There's a product called TouchPad2Midi which does allow you to configure a synaptics touch pad into 4 discrete channels of ctrl chg, prg chg and note on/off. Here's the link: http://www.livelab.dk/touchpad2midi.php

I'm not sure if there is a mac version but it's not bad for what it does and costs (free).

Thanks, but i cant get it to generate midi messages. I´ve set up midi remote in preferences to cAIDinput 1. And set up cc numbers in controlaid. Also, does this generate midi based upon where the mouse pointer is, or where the finger is on the touchpad?

If only this app worked on an intel machine :( : http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/d ... croll.html

It sends absolute values it seems. No midi. But that doesnt matter.

Edit: Found this also : http://fingamidi.sourceforge.net/
again this doesnt support newer mac laptops. Looks sweet though.
