Hello fellow forum users, does anyone here have a subscription to Future Music
? if so have you gotten any issue past jan 07 ? that's the last one i've gotten
i've tryed to contact them at their websties and by phone and nothing.
I looked on their site at www.futuremusicmag.com and the Jan issue is still
on there :!: and to top it off, it would seem they are no longer accepting online subscriptions :? so if anyone has any info on this i would really appreciate it, even did a google search to see if they folded but found nothing
stating such (grumbles still have 7 months left in my sub :x )
thx for any help on this mates.

Cheers

The US version is no more, the UK version is alive and well though.

Check if you can change over.

Gee I wonder why, the Uk version had a sweet DVD and the US was pamphlet thin and at best had a cd with some demo software on it.

Good Riddance. Though to be honest the 5th series of "mash-up beats" which are the old beats repackaged a hundred ways has grown tiresome, not to mention the double pricing.

Hello,

I am a subscriber to Future Music and so far my issues have been arriving regularly. I haven't heard they are going under. I live in The Netherlands by the way.

i get some useful reading from remix, electronic musician, and keyboard. SOS is the best hands down.

Mix magazine is more for engineers but sometimes i learn something that isnt over my head.

Future Mag was more about gear porn and cool pictures in my opinion.

They probably changed the magazine name to 'FutureHype'

If you want the the musical-tabloid equivalent of TheSun go for it - otherwise if you want a seriously good non-hype-broadsheet go for Sound-On-Sound magazine (also from the UK). It's reviews are much better, and it has excellent tutorials.

the US version sucked anyway. it was never nearly packed with stuff as the UK edition. it wasn't as "thick" also the DVD that came with it had the same problem and half the time it was just duplicate of the UK version with some packaging difference.

That damned UK edition cost me $15 damn dollars just to pick it up from the local Barnes and Noble. I think i've had my fill with magazines/subcriptions. Half the time its just advertisements for gear thats new and improved and 10 times better than the gear i just bought 3 months ago, and i have more than enough gear/software. I want to learn to use and get use out of the stuff i have first before buying anything else. Think i'll just stick to forums.
