Having my first 10"EP pressed as I type.

Can't wait to hold the test pressing in my hands and then lower the needle...fingers crossed.

I took my own advice and put a new cartridge on my record player (one of the little wires broke off had to solder it back on grrr...) ran it through my mixer into Live and slapped the RIAA plug-in on. Sounds OK.

Damn! Here's why vinyl sounds so good:

First thing, it's not really possible to reproduce high frequencies like you can on a digital medium, so it doesn't sound as tinny and shrill, but way warmer.

Second thing: Masses of distortion, you really notice it if you've just been making music in the box all day then put on a record.

Third: Crackle & rumble & noise, also quite nice!

Sounds pretty cool. Although it flies in the face of the concept a bit have you a website you are selling the release through (like Discogs for example)

When radio was first introduced in the 1930’s many predicted the end of records. Radio was a free medium for the public to hear music for which they would normally pay.
this site goes through history from the birth of radio to iTune's recent price drop and ending of DRM and how each movement threatened vinyl.
