Can't wait to hold the test pressing in my hands and then lower the needle...fingers crossed.

I took my own advice and put a new cartridge on my record player (one of the little wires broke off had to solder it back on grrr...) ran it through my mixer into Live and slapped the RIAA plug-in on. Damn! Here's why vinyl sounds so good:
First thing, it's not really possible to reproduce high frequencies like you can on a digital medium, so it doesn't sound as tinny and shrill, but way warmer.
Second thing: Masses of distortion, you really notice it if you've just been making music in the box all day then put on a record.
Third: Crackle & rumble & noise, also quite nice!
