Singapore Airlines

Post by muscleandhate » Tue Mar 20, 2007 11:55 am

Anyone ever flown with them? I'm flying to Sydney with them from the UK next week. I think I'm going standard or economic class, any experiences?

I flew with them to Taipei this year.

One of the better airlines I have flown with.

I flew with them a lot when I used to live in KL a couple years ago. Only airline I ever got an upgrade on, and I've done a fair amount of flying, and they got hot staff.

The best - I had the good fortune a couple of years ago to fly Raffles class or whatever they call the first class service and at someone else's expense too. Superb. Very attentive (and attractive) flight attendants. Good food, etc.
I invented coffee

fabulous service (always with a smile), I flew from London to Sydney (Stopping in singapore) in Feb and there were so many things to do, which made the long flight less stressful. Highly recommend it.

... And if you say it is your honeymoon they will give you a free chocolate cake.

I had to spend 4 hours in the singapore airport whilst in transit, which flew by. It is actualy a decent place to spend a few hours, has a movie cinema, a half decent technology duty free shop, decent restraunts, free internet (you can check out this forum) plus much more. If you have a stopover of more than 6 hours they offer a free tour bus through singapore.

They also serve tiger beer (Singapore's version a lager) on the plane which is a pretty good drop.

Sup Jesus, well I've no idea. I just booked a flight out for something to do and forgot about it. Now its here I'm shitting myself and my girlfriend is extremely angry (edit, former girlfriend).

I've got a dude in Melbourne so I think I'm going to take a photo of the Opera house and then leave.

Your in for a treat... Although it is much better now that they have entertainment at your finger tips via the LCD screen in front of you.... Make sure to drink plenty of water... Ear plugs help and a sleeping mask for your eyes they'll probably supply one... Bring lip balm the air is very dry...

Yes, beer is free. But I wouldn't drink too much booze, particularly on long haul flights. Dehydration is a big problem. Apart from the atmospheric conditions within a plane that dehydrate you, alcohol does too. It's best to just stick to water or orange juice and totally avoid grog.

By the way, I only fly Singapore Air. Best I've flown with and I have flown with lots of different airlines. Though British Airways is pretty good too. Long haul flights are a bastard though. They seem to last forever and time loses all meaning. I make the trip to Australia every year and sometimes twice a year. You never really get used to it. If you can sleep, which is highly unlikely, it certainly makes the trip seem faster.

Just pray you don't get to sit next to a boring and excessively fat person with bad breath.

Have a nice flight and a good time in Oz. After staying there a little while you won't want to leave.

they are good. make sure you sign up for the frequent flyer points. if your intending to come back to the uk at any time you can really rack up the points. 2 trips out to aus got me a business class upgrade for free.

even though its late - i travelled to LA on monday with qantas. they have really raised their game. just as good i thought.
