errr, no 303?
Not any more! - I use abl2 now for my acid needs - I used to use an all-hardware setup (MPC2000, MPC2000XL, TB303, SH09, 1604VLZ, Compounder), but I'm strictly digital now!
I also use abl2. Not bad for a soft.

Oooh, an SH09. Do you miss any of your old hardware kit?

I've been looking at some older Roland synths, and the SH09 is supposed to be great for bass. How did you find it ollyb303?

What has replaced your bass sound in the digital world?

Thanks.

I do miss the hardware for pure hands on tweakability (but my faderfoxes are pretty damn good in that department) - I don't miss carrying it all (I can fit my whole setup in a rucksack now!).

The 09 is lovely for bass - you're kinda limited in the sounds you can get out of it, but if you like the sound, it's great.

I use Sylenth1 a lot now - fantastic soft synth.

This is what I'm aiming for a stage setup:
Acer 7720G or Lenovo T61P laptop (both similar spec, 1920x1200 display, 4G ram etc)
NI Audio kontrol audio interface
Vestax VCM-600 controller and Ableton Live 7
or Vestax VCI-100 controller and Tracktor 3 (depending on the gig)

I'm actually exploring ways of practically using both applications together and sync'd up so i can easily do sets with more hands on control of my own music and lighting through Live 7 mixed with more conventional DJing though Traktor.

Its a huge shame Traktor doesnt support rewire as that would solve the problem completely.
Nothing to see here - move along!

I used to have an SH09 and regret selling it every time I make a tune. I didn't use it nearly enough when I had it but now I kick myself every time I'm after more low end.

As I haven't posted my setup in a real live situation, here are some pics from Saturday night at the Trinity centre in Bristol:

Those high X stands make me shudder - I can just picture synths smashing to the floor at full force at the slightest knock... hope I haven't jinxed it! But damn...

These last two are very nice - beatpoet where's the venue?
