The Challenge contest- now Trackbattle.org - up and running!

Post by jasinski » Sat Mar 31, 2007 10:51 pm

Hey guys, the contests I ran on here were really a TON of fun. Over the past 3 months I have experimented with running casual contests on Ableton Live's forum. Now I have stepped it up a notch and set up a separate site specifically with these type of contests in mind..
www.TrackBattle.org!

So, our inaugural contest is about to start. We have a great sponsor. KeyToSound is offering NexSyn as a prize to the winner. The Remedy Song contest will run for the whole month of April.

Here are the details:
Enter the great Remedy song contest from Keytosound and Trackbattle.org! Download the Remedy soft-synth from keytosound.com, and compose an entire song using just Remedy - melody, drums, everything, and submit it to Trackbattle.org for your chance to win a full version of KeyToSound's premiere softsynth, Nexsyn! Find full details at Trackbattle.org - and get down on it!

The forum seems to be having trouble registering some email addresses. PM me or email me from here if you don't get it to work, and I will add you manually.

Come find out what it's all about. It should be a lot of fun-

Anyone else playing with this synth? I don't have it figured out yet. No phat sounds yet but mulitple instances could help. Never made my own drums before, good exercise for me.

I got a bunch of presets for it on my audio site.. if you wanna check em out. It is actually quite a usable synth.

A great way to make some phat sounds with Remedy is to use the oscillators to your advantage. Tweak the OSC 1 to a triangle and the OSC 2 to a sine.
Give it a little FM, and tweak the LFO. Use some MIDI CC learn to assign your knobs and tweak further, and you'll have some real deep sounds out of Remedy. I've made some of my favorite bass sounds this way.

I run tech support for KTS guys, so if you need help, just holler at me. I can't wait to hear what you all do!
