so much, I really respect chris cunningham, that song always does it for me too, big lotsa seratonin dropped with those songs, I feel it's helped to shape me as a person to some degree.
Anybody else notice that, at least these last 3 posts are all in D or A min/maj?

They caught me by surprise on a Bizarre Festival I went to several years ago. Didn't even want to watch their gig, because I'm not into mellow headliners, but, since I liked their "how to measure a planet" album, I figured I'd watch a few songs and go back to my tent. Boy was I wrong! The second they started playing I was basically reduced to a shivering lump on the ground for the rest of the show. Absolutely hit the right spot from a completely unexpected direction. No special substances involved, not even a fucked up relatonship. For me, that gig that night was pure beauty. I actually tried to get away after a few songs, but I would've had to kill myself for not witnessing the whole thing. That's probably what it feels like when you fall prey to sirens. Years later I saw them a second time. Circumstances were different, and while it had been a good show, the effect wasn't by far as drastic, which made me sad and grateful at the same time.
"Saturnine" still works pretty well though ...
who's next in the crybaby parade?

Since you ask... No, not at all. I totally disagree with your take on gay humor.

If the butt of the joke can be found by replacing gay or ghey with words like lame, effeminate, stupid, worthless, etc then one is simply gay bashing and laughing at how little one thinks of gay people.

On the other hand, if I were to proposition you for another blow job or say "it's only gay if your balls touch", that's humor from shock value. The joke is on ME, a married, straight, boob loving male engaging in homosexual acts, it's not on gay people for their differences (which go well beyond sex.)

I know you to be a good person, I know you mean no harm, that's just how it is in Texas and other areas of the country. I just don't put up with it, I have ripped friends new assholes over this. I live in a liberal bubble in the Yay Area but I don't think it's too much to ask for people to treat each other with respect. I haven't heard a non-black person use the word n*gger for YEARS, I doubt that's the same in Texas (not to pick on Texas, but you know what I mean.) Different places, different cultural norms.

I take this seriously because it really pisses me off that anti-gay sentiments are a driving force in national elections in America, I'd like to take a baseball bat to the heads of all the homophobes who vote with hatred, or Bush for proposing a Constitutional ammendment against gays. I have many gay friends, one of which was assaulted and robbed because he's gay.

We don't have to agree, one person, one viewpoint, do as you wish, say I'm over-reacting or just being overly PC, this is my take on the issue. I don't like it and it puts me off the forum.

Anyway, just to be clear where I stand on all the gay jokes I've made, I do not condone a lot of what's been said, my apologies to the gay forum members who have been put off by bad humor.

Kind of an interesting topic, at least from the stance that there's a lot of strong opinions on every side.

And I repeat, I know you to be a good person and you sincerely mean no harm, I just disagree with you on this one and it's a touchy subject.
