crackling noise

I'm getting this weird crackling sound/ interference on my E-MU 0404 (bought 1 week ago) it just started today, comes and goes. no idea what it could be. i changed the usb cable - no joy there. :?
Live 6, Sony Vaio Core Duo t2050, 1 gig Ram, Faderfox Lv2, E-MU 0404 external SC, Oxygen 8 keyboard, Kore, Komplete 4 .Korg Legacy.

take the chance and sample those noises

on topic: try to increase the latency (and use ASIO drivers)
