I noticed in another thread you mentioned that people you know use them and have been happy. Were these one particular style of music or many.leedsquietman wrote:http://www.sonymusicsim.com/
I also am looking into getting a House track professionally mastered just to test it against what i already do myself.
I run an online mastering service specialising in (but not limited to) dance music. You can check out my website at:

Lots of before/after sample clips, a useful FAQ page, and extremely reasonable rates. Give me a shout if interested

I know people who make house/trance/hip hop/alternative rock and heavier grungy stuff who used the service and were happy.
If you believe the hype, it is done by the same mastering studios where Sony master all their major label artists and they have several different mastering engineers who specialize in different genres.

I've had a bunch of tunes mastered at PureFocus and am always amazed by the results I get back. If it rhymed with "-ack", I'd totally use the "... you never go back" joke, but it doesn't so I can't, and it sucks because I'd be completely serious about it at the same time.
I'd recommend Shawn Hatfield at audible oddities. Did a great job on some deep tech-house tracks of mine a while back.
Awright Bawjaws, that smells lovely son, gies a wee taste!

how about a test of peoples mastering skillz on this board? we could choose someone's dry mix and each produce our own mastered version ( every one should master the track to a similar RMS loudness to make it easier to compare) we could find our mastering buddies that way.
it'd be a great way to learn new techniques!!!
