[UPDATE]
Live Lite 6 Limitations list updaterered:

• Max number of tracks is 10. (Audio, midi, return, master)
• Max number of return tracks is 1 (therefore 1 send)
• Number of mono input channels is 8 (4 audio, 4 MIDI)
• Number of audio tracks is limited to 4
• Number of MIDI tracks is limited to 4
• Number of simultaneous VST/AU plug-in load is 1
• Number of audio effects per set is limited to 2 (hint: use racks)
• No native mp3 support
• 4 Scene LImitation
• Rewire function disabled. (I can't confirm this).
• No operator (you can use it but in goes to demo mode - have to restart to get it back to Lite mode)
• No sampler (you can use it but in goes to demo mode - have to restart to get it back to Lite mode)
• Makes bad trance

its pretty much considered to be a demo...
its very useless.
The Push / Novation Launch Pad / Novation Launch Pad Pro / Novation Launch Key
/ Launch Control XL / Machine MkII / Machine Studio / BeatStep / Livid OhmRGB / Livid Code V2 / Apc 40 MKII

no computers or synths

I don't find it useless in any way. It's actually usable in the sense that you can save just as with the full version.

Limitations forces creativity...

Theres' one big omission from the Lite version not mentioned above.

It does not support MP3 files

Not ideal.

Wouldn't bother me at all from a composing point of view. From a DJing POV, just convert to .wav or .aif before importing - it's done internally otherwise anyway...

It's basically free software!

Biggest Limitation is it's 4 Scenes only, other than that it would be perfect (for me).

Thats the best way to not spend alot of money, you just buy your favourite hardware equpment that has Live Lite, preferably an M-Audio midi controller then just upgrade
